Nokia Asha 305 and Nokia Asha 306 Features, Price, Full Informations

Nokia Asha 305 and Nokia Asha 306

 Nokia Asha 306
Two closely related and very low cost touchscreen phones, the Nokia Asha 305 and Nokia Asha 306 are aimed at emerging markets and consumers on a budget.
The differences between the Asha 305 and 306 models are slight. The Nokia Asha 305 is a dual-SIM handset with a hot-swap capability that allows you to change SIM cards without turning off the phone. The Nokia Asha 306 removes the dual-SIM capabilities and includes WiFi instead, making this Nokia's cheapest ever WiFi-enabled phone. Neither phone is 3G capable, although the WiFi connectivity on the 306 means that you can access the internet quickly when connected to a suitable wireless network.
Nokia Asha 305 These are Series 40 feature phones rather than smartphones, but you can download new applications from the Nokia Store including 40 free EA games that you can keep. The Asha 305 and 306 support Facebook, Twitter and come with a media player with an accelerated web browser designed to minimise download costs and work more quickly on the 2G connection.
On the front is a simple 3.0" 240 x 400 pixel touchscreen. The panel is of the older (and cheaper) resistive type rather than the easier-to-use capacitive displays that you see on more expensive devices. The closely related Nokia Asha 311 does have a capacitive screen, but it costs about 50% more.
On the back is a basic 2 megapixel camera capable of very rudimentary video recording. There's an FM radio, a microSD slot, Bluetooth and USB connectivity. The standard sales package includes a 2GB memory card and a stereo wired headset.
Nokia Asha 305 Inside both handsets is a 1110 mAh BL-4U battery which Nokia claims gives up to 14 hours talktime and 22 days standby time. The Asha 305 and 306 measure 110 x 54 x 13mm and weigh a little under 100 grams.
The Nokia 305 should retail for €63 before tax and subsidy, it will be available in silver white, red, mid blue and dark grey colours and should hit the market during Q2 2012 (which effectively means by the end of June).
The Nokia 306 is a little more expensive at €68 before tax and subsidy in the same colour schemes as the 305, and Nokia say that it will be available during Q3 2012. These are both very good looking handsets for the money, and they certainly look more expensive than they actually are.

Nokia and Microsoft Set Stage for WinPho 8 Device Debut

Microsoft and Nokia are holding an event Sept. 5, and reports point to the arrival of new Windows Phone 8 devices, including the Arrow and the Phi. Windows Phone 8 will represent a fresh start for the mobile OS, but getting there has been a rocky road. Earlier this summer, Microsoft revealed existing Windows Phone 7 devices would not be able to upgrade to WinPho 8.

1 in 5 Shoppers Prefers Live Chat: A recent survey with over 2,000 regular internet shoppers shows that ~20% of them prefer to communicate via live chat over any other method, for any circumstance. Further, the chatter is more likely to shop more frequently and spend more. Download the free report.
Nokia may be battered, bleeding and losing money hand over fist, but it's not out for the count. The company will unveil two new Windows Phone 8 devices at a press conference to be held jointly with Microsoft in New York Sept. 5, The Verge has reported.
One device is reportedly code-named "Arrow," the other "Phi." Both are apparently part of the Lumia family of devices that Nokia introduced in the United States in January.
"We sincerely hope so," Maribel Lopez, principal analyst at Lopez Research, responded when asked whether the rumors might be true. "Everyone is waiting to see what this implementation looks like," she added.
"We'll have more details to share on Sept. 5 and encourage you to tune in to the webcast," Nokia spokesperson Chris Hollis told TechNewsWorld. "We don't comment on speculation."

Better Than the Truth?

Leaks and rumors pertaining to the new Nokia devices have been humming around the Internet for weeks.
The Phi will have a 4.7-inch AMOLED screen, Russian blogger Eldar Murtazin suggested. It will have a microSD card slot and be slimmer than the Lumia 800 and 900, but it will have a shorter battery life.
Meanwhile, the NokiaInnovation blog has published a detailed list of what it claims are the Phi's specs. It claims the device has no physical buttons on the front and four physical buttons on the right. It will run on a Qualcomm dual core CPU, have a near field communication (NFC) chip on board, and be LTE-enabled.
A rumor published earlier this month, also in The Verge, depicted a smartphone with a screen size of 4.3 inches that had three Windows Phone buttons. This device wouldn't have the unibody polycarbonate construction standard for the Lumia line, the report claimed.
Microsoft also declined comment. "We'll have more details to share on Sept. 5, and will also have a live webcast which you're invited to watch," company spokesperson Katie Hamachek told TechNewsWorld.

Who Might Do What With Which Device

AT&T will initially carry the Phi device exclusively as a so-called hero device, The Verge reported. It will succeed the Lumia 800 and 900. The Phi will have the polycarbonate body that's standard for Lumias, and it will have a large curved glass display.
The Arrow smartphone will reportedly be a mid-range device that will be offered by both AT&T and T-Mobile. Another smartphone, which will almost be identical to the Arrow, will be offered by Verizon, The Verge said. Its code name is Atlas.
"I'd say Nokia would announce one [new smartphone], two at most," Lopez told TechNewsWorld. "I believe it makes sense for there to be a high-end flagship device and a low end."

CPR for the Ailing?

Whether or not Nokia and Microsoft are doing the right thing by launching two WinPho 8 devices less than a year after their first products running WinPho 7 were released remains to be seen.
Nokia took a beating and sales of WinPho 7 devices have been disappointing, Sterne Agee analyst Shaw Wu pointed out back in June. Heavy promotion and advertising by carriers, who want a viable alternative to Android and iOS, didn't seem to work. Nokia vowed to soldier on, Wu said.
Earlier this summer, it was announced that Windows Phone 7 devices would not be upgradable to WinPho 8, effectively relegating existing WinPho 7 handsets to dead-ender status.
"Nokia makes great devices," Lopez said. "Microsoft didn't do it any favors by changing from Windows 7 to 8 so quickly." She expressed hope that the new devices that might be released will give Nokia a much-needed boost.

Nokia Windows Phone 8 prototype device leaked

Nokia Windows Phone 8 prototype device leaked

Here we are with another new leak – this time it is Nokia’s unnamed Windows Phone 8 device, a yellow coloured unibody protoyype smartphone as reported by sources.
Chinese website WPDang has released pictures of the mystery device that looks like the current Nokia Lumia phones. As per the leaked pictures and information, the device features a unibody polycarbonate design with a fine yellow-border finish, not seen on the current Lumia series smartphones.
Here’s the picture released by WPDang:

The new device, although still a prototype, could be the extension of Nokia Lumia 800, as it shows remarkable similarity with the popular curved-screen phone.
As far as the operating system and user interface of the new prototype is concerned, SlashGear offers the following interpretation of the information released on the Chinese website:
The UI also marks the unnamed phone out as potentially something special. The smaller iconography – which now fits up to four Live Tiles to each line – is a feature of Windows Phone 7.8 and Windows Phone 8; it’s unclear which version of the platform this device is running or, indeed, if it’s merely showing a screenshot of the updated interface.
There is no confirmation as yet about whether or when this Nokia device will be made available. However, Nokia is expected to release first two Windows Phone 8 handsets early next month.
