Upcoming Sony Xperia Tablet looks sleek in new photos
Sony is eagerly looking to extend its current Xperia range and is said to be working on a new device – Xperia Tablet. New photos of the unreleased tablet have surfaced and they are pretty, to say the very least.
The device showcases a very classy design and is noticeably thin when compared to Sony Tablet S, the previous tablet offering from the Japanese manufacturer. Xperia Tablet models a two-tone back with the Xperia logo on one side thus confirming that the tablet indeed is to be released with Xperia branding.
Citing a previously leaked presentation slide, SlashGear understands the upcoming tablet to feature NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 chipset, 16/32/64GB of internal memory and a 9.4-inch large display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. The device will also offer Wi-Fi connectivity with up to 10 hours of browsing. It is also expected to sport an 8.0 Megapixel rear camera on the black aluminium layer as depicted in the following photo.
Describing Xperia Tablet’s main screen photo, SlashGear writes:
Meanwhile Sony’s choice of screenshot – assuming the renders are legitimate – borrows the “cosmic flow” wallpaper from the Xperia smartphones, highlighting Sony’s greater work to bring the two teams together. It further adds:
Visible icons include that for the Sony Walkman app, no great surprise given the company’s previous emphasis on multimedia. It’s likely that the tablet will also work as a universal remote for your TV and other AV kit, though that’s yet to be confirmed.Sony Xperia Tablet is expected to be released officially at the annual IFA 2012 international exhibition starting August 31 in Berlin.
